Introduction
Open POS (Free & Offline) (“the App”) is an offline-first point-of-sale application built for small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data on iOS and Android devices.

Data Collection and Storage
The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party.

All data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device only using a local SQLite database and local key-value storage. The App is designed to function entirely offline without requiring any internet connection.

No accounts or sign-up required. The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use it.
No analytics or tracking. The App does not include any analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
No cloud storage. Your business data is never uploaded to any server.
Data You Create
The following types of data may be created and stored locally on your device:

Store profile — business name, tagline, phone, address, PAN/tax number, currency, loyalty settings
Product catalog — names, prices, images, categories, SKUs, stock levels, variants, modifiers
Customer records — name (required); phone, email, address (optional); loyalty points, discount settings, tax-exempt status
Sales orders — transaction history including items, quantities, prices, taxes, discounts, payment method, and linked customer
Expense records — amounts, dates, categories, notes, and optional receipt photos taken with your camera
Inventory adjustments — stock changes with reason codes and notes
Audit log — an append-only, immutable record of all changes to orders, products, settings, customers, and tax configurations
App preferences — theme, printer configuration, onboarding status
Receipt photos for expenses are stored locally in the App’s documents directory as compressed JPEG images. Product images you select from your gallery are referenced by their local file path.

Data Sharing and Export
The App allows you to export data in CSV format (products, customers, expenses, orders) and share files using your device’s native share sheet. When you use the share feature, data leaves the App and is handled by the receiving application. This sharing is always initiated by you and never happens automatically.

You may also import product and customer data from CSV files you select from your device.

Internet Usage
The App is designed to work fully offline. However, it makes the following limited network connections:

Google Fonts — On first launch, the App downloads the “Inter” font family from Google’s font service. The font is cached locally for subsequent use. No personal or business data is included in this request.
Support links — The App provides links to contact support via email and WhatsApp, and a link to our website. These open external applications (email client, WhatsApp, web browser) and are always user-initiated. No data from the App is transmitted through these links.
The App monitors your device’s connectivity status to determine whether an internet connection is available, but does not transmit any data based on this status.

Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. There are no ads, no analytics providers, and no social media SDKs. The only external network request is the one-time Google Fonts download described above.

Data Retention and Deletion
All data is stored locally on your device:

Retention — Data persists until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
Deletion — You can delete individual records (products, customers, expenses, etc.) from within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all associated data.
Audit log — The audit log is append-only and cannot be deleted from within the App. It is removed when the App is uninstalled.
Order history — Completed orders retain a snapshot of product names and customer names for historical accuracy, even if the original product or customer record is later deleted.
Children’s Privacy
The App is a business tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this document.
