Privacy Policy for Expense Ease

Expense Ease (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal expense tracking application developed by BrandBuilder. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Information We Collect

Expense Ease is designed with privacy in mind. We collect and store the following information:

  • Expense data: Amounts, dates, categories, and remarks you enter. This data is stored locally on your device.
  • Google account information: If you choose to sign in with Google, we access your name, email address, and profile photo solely to display within the app and enable Google Sheets backup.

How We Use Your Information

  • Local storage: All expense data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. We do not have access to this data.
  • Google Sheets backup: If you choose to back up your data, the app creates a spreadsheet in your own Google Drive account and writes your expense data to it. We do not access, read, or store your Google Sheets data on any server.
  • Google Drive access: We use the drive.file scope, which only allows the app to access files it has created. We cannot access any other files in your Google Drive.

Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored locally on your device.
  • We do not operate any servers or databases.
  • We do not collect analytics or usage data.
  • We do not use any third-party tracking or advertising services.
  • Backup data is stored in your personal Google Sheets account, which is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In: For authentication. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Sheets API and Google Drive API: For optional data backup to your own Google account.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. Your data stays on your device and in your own Google account.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time through the app’s Settings page using the “Clear All Data” option.

Children’s Privacy

Expense Ease is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy
