Open Period & Cycle Tracker (“Luna”, “the App”, “we”, “our”) is a menstrual cycle tracking application developed by Brand Builder. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
The most important thing to know: All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal or health data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, address).
- We do not collect health or medical data from your device.
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry.
- We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
- We do not require user accounts, registration, or login.
- We do not transmit any data to remote servers.
- We do not use advertising or ad networks.
- We do not share data with third parties.
- We do not sell user data.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database:
Health & Cycle Data
- Period start and end dates.
- Flow intensity (light, medium, heavy).
- Mood and symptom selections.
- Medical checklist responses (pain level, discharge, sleep quality, skin condition, energy level, digestion, weight changes, libido, breast/hair changes).
- Free-text notes.
Personal Information (Optional)
- Name/Nickname: Used only for in-app greetings.
- Birthday: Used only to calculate age for age-appropriate health insights.
App Preferences
- Cycle length and period length settings.
- Default flow and mood preferences.
Note: This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it manually.
Data Export & Import
The App provides a CSV export feature that allows you to:
- Export all your cycle data to a CSV file.
- Share that file via your device’s share sheet (AirDrop, email, files, etc.).
- Import previously exported data.
The App does not automatically backup or sync data to any cloud service.
Location Data
The App may request access to your device’s location services. This is used solely to determine your geographic region to provide region-appropriate diet and food recommendations.
- Processing: Location data is processed entirely on your device.
- Storage: It is never transmitted to any server or stored permanently.
- Optional: You can deny location permission and the App will function fully using global suggestions instead.
Optional AI Features
On-Device Analysis
Analysis for cycle insights and diet recommendations runs entirely on your device using rule-based algorithms. It does not require a network connection.
Ollama Integration (Optional)
The App optionally supports connecting to a local Ollama LLM server. If enabled:
- Connection is made to a user-configured local network address (e.g., localhost).
- Data is sent only to your own local server; no data is sent to external clouds.
AI Prompt Builder
The App can generate text prompts containing your data for you to manually copy and paste into external services (like ChatGPT or Gemini). This action is entirely user-initiated.

The App provides health insights and wellness suggestions for informational purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
Data Security & Deletion
- Security: Your data benefits from your device’s built-in encryption and our “zero-network-call” architecture.
- Deletion: You can delete all data at any time via the “Reset All Data” feature in the App settings. Uninstalling the App also removes all local data.
